Jazz at Lincoln Center

Several American symphony orchestras went lucky this year - they were able to carry out long-planned tours to Europe as the Euro dollar took a deep dive. Many of these orchestras included Germany in their itineraries. This week, Germans will experience an American ensemble dedicated to what may be the most American of all music genres. The Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra is spending a few days in Braunschweig before moving on to Prague, Vienna, and Salzburg. During its five-day residency in Braunschweig, the orchestra is not only playing concerts, but it also offers workshops, rehearsals open to the public, and it hosts a film event. Furthermore, joins the orchestra of the city of Braunschweig for a special concert. Jazz at Lincoln Center, an organization based in New York, was established to promote jazz - not only abroad, but also in the United States, where jazz originated. Wynton Marsalis, the trumpeter, is the artistic director of Jazz at Lincoln Center, which celebrates its tenth anniversary this year.
